The First Wedding at Meadow & Marquee

It all started with a close friend saying that they knew a couple looking for land to host their wedding in Nottinghamshire...

From the moment we met Ali & James, we could tell that this was going to be a wedding we would never forget and we were so excited with the opportunity of hosting their beautiful day as our first event at Meadow & Marquee. With our 30+ years of experience, we knew we could bring together all of the elements for a dream wedding.

Our resident handyman and grandpa Michael, set to the task of making sure that the meadow looked it best and that our Willow Woods were perfectly manicured. The marquee was erected in the week leading up to the wedding and everything came together beautifully.

Travelling from Newark, the guests arrived on double decker buses and were greeted with an arrival drink, before casually being seated for the blessing. Without the restrictions of using a registrar, Ali and James were able to put their own stamp on their ceremony with tailored vows and even a cocktail being made to seal the deal!

The guests then moved back to towards the marquee and enjoyed a drinks reception in the meadow. With Sarah Sax playing chilled out music from her Swarovski Saxophone and the prosecco and beer flowing, it was a great vibe. Canapes were served by our fantastic waitresses in crates with faux grass which went down a treat.

As guests were seated in the marquee, A & J made an epic entrance with music and cheering and dancing into the room!

Then followed a delicious three-course meal of Caprese Salad, Chicken in Nduja Sauce, and Assiette of Desserts. With different choices and with 160 guests, it was all hands on deck! As the speeches came to an end, guests were moved though to Cocktail Hour... lets just say the Espresso's and Mojitos went down a treat!

The night finished on a full dance floor with pizza and wedding cake being enjoyed by all guests. As the wedding party left on two double decker buses, we were so ecstatic that our bride and groom had had the best day ever. It really was magical and we can't wait to do it all over again!
